The host family experience is a unique and rewarding aspect of the Games; for athlete, host family, and community alike. Lasting memories and relationships created during the week of the games between athletes and host families are an integral part of the JCC Maccabi Games® experience.
The host family offers the athlete a “home away from home” and a unique way to experience the Games and all the Birmingham Jewish community has to offer. In turn, host families experience the Games on a personal level, connecting with their friends and neighbors, and building a bond with their visiting athletes that extends well beyond the Closing Party.
Host families that are matched with visiting athletes MUST attend one host family orientation to be eligible to host.
